Nothing Was Working

Then I Tried This

Nothing was working so I tried this

Nothing Was Working

Actually, somethings were working but they were the same things all the time.  I think every artist has those things they know they can be successful with if they paint it.

MY GOOD THINGS:

  • DAISIES
  • SUNFLOWERS
  • TREES
  • WATER

My Not So Good Things:

  • EXPERIMENTING
  • PLAYING IN THE PAINT
  • THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

After attending ACRYLIC LIVE two years in a row I realized how I was limiting myself and I created this video with suggestions on how to get unstuck.  Watch the video now.

I’m looking at everything I create differently and not worrying so much about the outcome.  The goal is to learn with every creation.  I’m concentrating on learning.  I’m being intentional on learning and trying new things.

Last weeks video was all about new paints I ordered that I’ve never used before.  Click HERE to see that post.

Things I’m Trying

  • New and different brushes
  • Painting in a different order
  • Painting with different tools
  • Painting on different surfaces

I’m using an art journal (full disclaimer – not as much as I should) but I’m thinking about how I can use it daily and learn from it.  I’ll be doing a video about it in a few weeks.  Hopefully you are subscribed to my channel and click that little notification bell so you don’t miss anything that’s coming.

If you are stuck and need a little nudge moving forward get my printable Artist Plan HERE.  You create the plan by thinking and answering several prompts so it is YOUR plan.

My goal has always been to help beginners get a good foundation under them because it was so difficult for me to get started 25 years ago.  That’s why this blog is heavily weighted for things beginners need.  Click HERE to see how to practice without actually creating a painting.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you being here today and I hope I am able to help you on your art journey.

Have a great day and let’s paint together soon.
