The Brushes and Beyond Workshop is a 3 day workshop, March 26 – 28, 6 p.m. EST.
Day One we’ll be learning about the fundamentals of color and values as well as the tools you’ll need and how to use them.
Day Two we’ll be learning about the elements of a sunset that we will be creating on Day Three. We’ll be looking at blending colors and deciding what colors we want to use.
Day Three we’ll actually be painting a sunset. You will be able to select your own colors and I hope you’re going to be painting along with me.
Brushes and Beyond Free Beginnng Workshop has been created to help the beginning artist get started painting. It’s designed to cover the most basic things a beginner needs to know but didn’t know they need to know it.
I just attended a 4 day Plein Air Live painting event where thousands of artists had a chance to learn from 40-50 of the best artists in the country as they painted in oils, acrylics, watercolor and pastels. It was mind blowing and so enlightening as well as exhausting.
One thing I was surprised at was these artists who are so accomplished continue to go to workshops and learn from other artists. They are still investing in themselves. That is how they continue to improve their art. They say if you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backward.
Investing in yourself is critical to improve. It doesn’t help to do something 10,000 times if the 10,000 times are wrong. I’ve taken several 3-5 day workshops in the past and each time I came away energized and loaded up with knowledge and courage. Knowledge was terribly important but the courage to act upon it was even more valuable.
