What Can I Paint On?
Don’t even ask “What Can I Paint On” because acrylic paint is one of the most versatile paints ever and you can paint it on just about anything. I created a video showing some of the things you can paint on.
The surfaces you will learn about in the above video are:
- 140 lb water color paper
- Wood
- Plastic
- Canvas Panels
- Masonite
- Stretched Canvas
- Metal
You’ll learn how I tone them and use them. Toning wood or canvas is a method to give wood something to soak up besides your painting and on canvas to make sure the white doesn’t show through.
I tone my wood and canvas with a muted or neutral color such as burnt sienna mixed with lots of white, lite green or any other neutral colors. Many artists actually tone their canvas with red. I’ve never done that, but I think it’s interesting.
I have created a free printable beginning art supply list that would be great for you to print out and keep with your art notes. I know how easy it is to go into the big box art supply store and everything looks so cool. It’s hard to resist buying tons of things you don’t need and will neer use.
Download the list and find out what you already have. Then take the list with you when you shop or go online to an art supply site. I know I can help you save money by only buying what you absolutely need.
Click HERE to watch a video to see the two brushes and 4 tubes of paint you need to get started.
My mission is to help 1000 purpose driven beginning painters learn to paint using Fundamentals of Art, Elements of Art and Tutorials to help them move their art journey forward faster. If that’s you I hope we paint together real soon.
