thrifted Tray Makeover
With Hydrangeas
You know I can’t resist thrift stores. I’m not sure what it is about them and/or me, but I always am intrigued by the possibilities of things I can create. The pull of adventure tugs hard at my heart and creativity side. Please tell me you have tiny bit of that illness. I don’t want to suffer alone. This thrifted tray makeover was so fun to do and I hope you;ll give it a try.
I recently purchased a number of trays of all sorts to paint flowers on. I gave them all a good clean and then used white Zinser primer spray on all of them. One of the trays was a bright blue plastic and I wasn’t at all convinced the spray paint would stick but it did so naturally I had to give that tray a makeover first. It was destined to be adorned with my favorite painting subjects, hydrangeas and daisies. Watch the thrifted tray makeover below.
I know you want to try this now. And if that’s not enough for you I have a whole playlist of FREE painting demos and tutorials. Click HERE to go to the playlist with lots of different paintings to learn from.
While you’re on my YouTube channel, I would greatly appreciate a thumbs up, subscribing to my channel and I’d really love a comment. Comments are golden. I’m really trying to grow my channel and I could use your help to do that.
I love painting hydrangeas and daisies. They are so fun and fresh looking. Do you have a thing you love painting the most? I love painting flowers but I also love painting clouds, rocks and trees. That comes from 7 years of painting nothing but landscapes. I really did start painting over 20 years ago so I could paint some of the beautiful sunsets we had on our farm.
If there is something you would love to learn to paint, I’d love to know what it is. I’ve been known to make a video on subjects people suggested.
Be on the lookout for info about the lessons coming out in the Beginner’s Painting Club. We’ll be painting and drawing hummingbirds. Get more info HERE about the Beginner’s Painting Club. It only opens several times a year and will be oping in the next two months so get on the wait list now.
This was a fun lesson learning how to create some iridescent feathers on the bird and then of course there’s the wings. I’m still practicing drawing hummingbirds, getting proportions exactly right. Honestly, that is the very best way to learn to draw and paint. Totally immerse yourself into the subject and work on it every way you can.
Hope this was helpful. Share with anyone you think would enjoy!
