Eagle Creek Vineyard, Warsaw, KY hosts sip and paint get togethers monthly. I have the honor to teach many of them.

The painting we did was of a vase of pink flowers. Leaves and flowers can be difficult but these troopers gave it their all. They listened and followed directions and were all in on doing a great job. And they all did a super job and were very encouraging of each other.
Learning to paint is a skill and is something just about anyone can learn. Your success depends on the amount of effort and practice time you give it. There are fundamentals to learn and implement and practice and as you do that you will begin to improve your art. Just like learning to play golf or music requires practice on a regular basis, painting is no different. Almost no one goes to the easel and is able to paint well immediately. All great painters practice regularly.
I say all this to assure anyone who has tried to learn to paint and gave up because they thought they had no talent, talent is not the issue. Practice is the secret sauce. Intentional practice. Practice with a purpose. Study and practice will take you on the road you want to travel.
