Starting Is THE Main Thing
We all have that procrastination bone where we just don’t want to get started. We don’t want to start dinner, run the vacuum, pay the bills, and the list goes on and on. The job isn’t that bad once we get started, but starting is difficult.
Starting is even more difficult for things like trying something brand new. When I started painting over 20 years ago I was very sick and I had learning to paint on my bucket list. I was highly motivated to get started quickly and learn to paint.
The thing about that situation is you can’t rush learning art. It takes time, repetition and deliberate practice. Lots of deliberate practice.
Recently I uploaded this video that speaks to the importance of starting.
I’ve created this Beginning Artist Bundle that will help beginners get started with a better foundation under them. Click HERE to get the bundle. In the bundle you’ll get a plan to help you clarify what you want to learn to paint and how and when you’ll do it. You’ll also get 5 secrets every beginning artist should know and an ebook on understanding perspective. This bundle was created specifically for beginners and I’d love for you to take advantage of it.
This blog post is about 10 things I wish I knew before starting to learn to paint. Click HERE to go to that post.
Have a great week and let’s paint together real soon.
