Painting Loose Grasses and Leaves
This video is a tutorial for the grasses and leaves background I painted. I used this background in creating some short videos on painting several types of flowers. As I get them all out there on my channel I will create a blog post with all of them in one place. I will add one here.
I use this technique a lot. I really like the look and you can use it in so many ways. Remember to be back on the handle of you brush as far away from the bristles as you can hold it. Let your arm actually create the movement. That will loosen up your painting a lot using this technique.
One thing beginners struggle with, because that’s what I struggled with and still do on occasion, is painting too tightly. If you hold your brush too near the bristles you will end up painting tight. If you want to paint looser, you need to actually loosen up on the brush.
