I wish I could take credit for this ingenious idea, but I learned this from an artist whose work I love. Julie Ford Oliver is an artist in New Mexico and her work is truly inspiring to me as is her generous spirit.
I’ve used this technique repeatedly and it works like a charm every time. It has helped me figure out what to do and where to go next on many paintings. Usually I figure out what I want to do, but this time it helped me realize what I didn’t want to do.
