My goal is for you to learn basic art concepts that you can build on as you complete this painting. Concepts like values, perspective, form, and techniques like blending and knowing which brush to use and why are all explained in these videos as we work our way through the painting. These are all tools you will use in any future painting or art project.
I am so happy that I purchased the art classes. The video’s are well laid out and the instructions are clear enough that a child can follow them. The video’s are also interesting enough for an adult. We are so happy with what we have learned and look forward to learning more. I can highly recommend this to all my friends and family and anyone looking to learn more about painting. Rachel
About a year and a half ago I had the good fortune to take a couple painting courses from Sharon Graves. Acrylics 101 offered ‘How to paint Daisies’ and ‘How to paint Irises’.

Here’s what you’ll get
How long will I have access to this class?
You have unlimited access to this class for one full year from date of purchase.
Who is this class for?
This class is for anyone over the age of 10 or so and is designed for beginning students. Teens and adults will gain a lot from this class.
What will I learn in this class?
You will learn art concepts such as how to create value, form and depth. You will learn which brushes to use and why. You will learn how to mix paint. You will learn how to create an impressionistic background. You will learn how to blend paint and how to flip petals over to see both sides.
What type of paint is used in this class.
You will be using acrylics.
What is this painted on?
I painted this on 140lb. water color paper that was 14″ x 18″ and taped onto a Masonite board all the way around using painters tape. You can paint it in any size you’d like, but I wouldn’t smaller than 11″ x 14″. You can paint on stretched canvas, gallery wrap canvas, or wood or canvas panel or water color paper as I did.
Where can I purchase supplies?
There are several online stores you can use such as Dick Blick or Jerry’s Artarama, or you can go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I’d steer clear of stores like Walmart because they seldom have artist or student grade paints in tubes. You do not want craft paints.
How do you teach?
I teach using real time videos going step by step. I don’t hold anything back from you. If you don’t understand something, you just watch the video again and I recommend that. I don’t skip over anything or use time lapse videos except where there is a very long passage of repetitive steps and then only after I have shown you at least half of the segment.
Can I share the link?
Absolutely NOT! This class and painting is my creation and my intellectual property. I do NOT give permission for you to share this class with anyone other than someone actually living in your house, using your computer. This is not to be used in a group class setting or in a co-op class.
