Creating Depth Using Green
There are many ways to achieve perspective and in this tutorial we’re going to create depth using the most seen color in nature, green. Green is everywhere in landscapes and learning how to create depth using green is essential. Click that big beautiful button to watch the tutorial.
Creating depth, regardless of the color, there are certain rules that make things work. Things in the distance are cooler, duller and have less detail. As subjects in your painting come forward, they get warmer, brighter and have more detail.
Even if the distance isn’t very far away, as in a still life or a floral painting, the same fundamentals apply. Without thee concepts a painting will look flat and amateurish.
In the video I’m not creating fine art. I’m only teaching a method of how to make things work. I chose green because it is the most used color in landscape art. If you can create depth with green you can probably do it with any color.
