Sweltering in Kentucky
Can’t Stand the heat – Get out of the kitchen. Let me just say, I feel really sorry for all the outdoor workers this week, but especially today. I can’t stand the heat and it is absolutely sweltering in Kentucky right now. The state fair is going on so of course it is hotter than blue blazes!!!
You know what not to do, but it is a really good day to stay indoors and paint if you can.
One of the things I like to do for fun is head to a thrift store and buy up things I can paint and or transform into something else. Sometimes I just add a little something, sometimes I basically start from scratch and then there are those times I dismantle something and turn it into a completely new thing.
Why I Went Thrifting
I’m teaching how to draw and paint sunflowers this month in the Beginner’s Painting Club so I was killing two birds with one stone. Since I can’t stand the heat this made perfect sense to me.
When we sold our farm, I sold most of my holiday decor so I decided I’d work on some fall decor using the sunflowers I taught in the Beginner’s Painting Club. It was so fun and I was so happy with the results. Click that big beautiful button below to watch a short video of my creations.
If you’ve always wanted to learn to paint, but life got in the way, you really owe it to yourself to at least check out the Beginner’s Painting Club. It’s comprehensive, fun and very affordable.
Is This Something You’d Like To See More Of
If you like my fall decor and would like to see more of this type of thing, well, you gotta let me know. Send me smoke signals or DM me at @kypaintster or easier still, leave a comment on the video. I’d love to know your thoughts on this.
In the video I explain that I painted the vase and didn’t like it so I painted over it. With acrylic paint you have that option. You can fix anything with acrylic paint. One of the reasons I love it so much is it dries fast and I can paint over it if needed. So don’t worry if you’re not happy with something. Just paint over it.
I hope you’re OK where ever in the world this finds you. Stay cool and let’s paint together real soon.
