You’ll start off learning all about color, how to create a color wheel and a color chart and what to do with them and why you need them.  (They actually have a purpose and I still use one all the time.)

You’ll also learn about values and how values can make your painting sink or swim.  If you’re painting is off, it’s almost always in the values.

Next I’ll show you the different types of strokes you can get with different types of brushes.  You get to play in the paint.

Understanding how to place things in your painting to make it more interesting and vibrant and how to lead the eye through the painting is what you’ll learn in composition.

Practice doesn’t make perfect.  Perfect practice makes perfect.  There are ways to practice that you will gain the most out of and you’ll be learning that too.

And finally:  You’ll move into two full size

real time painting lessons.

You can paint these roosters in any color you want.  I’m just teaching you a method and you’ll be able to make your own choice.  This module has step by step instructional videos in it.  I don’t do any time lapse videos.  You will see every single stroke.  You’ll learn how to make the barn wood, the straw, the rooster and those incredible tail feathers. This pretty boy is a fun painting.  I even include a drawing of the rooster.

The rooster painting is a 20″ x16″ stretched canvas and Summer Scent is a 14″ x 11″ stretched canvas, but you could paint them on just about any size you wanted.

In this fun painting, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to create an abstract background, how to paint those soft leaves, stems, tulips and lilacs. Again you could paint this in any color you’d like, but these are my favs.  The only place I will ever teach this particular painting class, is in this Academy.
