3 beginner acrylic lessons in 1 video? How are you going to do that Sharon? Click the link below to find out.
Getting started as a beginner can be the scariest thing. I know. I’ve been there! I was there before the internet and my goal is to help all beginners get started with confidence. These 3 beginner acrylic lessons in 1 video is designed to get you started in under 15 minutes.
- What brush do I use
- How do I load my brush
- How do I blend paint
- What can I paint on
- How can I practice
Critical Info
One of the main things all artists do and beginners really struggle with is putting pressure on the brush. It is frustrating to try to put down a thin line only to get a thick line. The pressure you put on the brush is the culprit. In the video you’ll see how pressure on the brush changes what you’re painting. This one tip took me a good while to learn and I’ve seen hundreds of students struggle with it as well.
All those questions and more are answered in this 15 minute video. You’ll even learn how to use your brush to paint leaves, stems and curly q’s. There’s a lot more in the 3 beginner acrylic lessons in 1 video than just 3. Did you miss it? Click HERE.
What Do You Really Need?
Have you had the deer in the headlight experience at the art store? Not only do you not know what to buy, you don’t know what any of that stuff is for. Click HERE for my resource list of my favorite things. Not only is it a list of products I use and links to shop, but it gives you lots of info as to why I like them and what not to waste your money on.
When Can I See Results?
Learning to paint is not difficult but it does take time. You can’t judge your first years work with someone who’s been at it for more than 20 years. It’s not fair to you. But dedicating even as little as 15-30 minutes a session 2 or 3 times a week will reap benefits you would never have imagined.
To help you get started here is a link for a FREE painting class I created especially for beginners. Click HERE to get the free class.
If you’re a beginning painter I hope you bookmark this blog because it’s all been built just for you. You’ll notice there’s no ads here, just information to help a beginner get started painting with confidence so you can move your art forward. I’ve been adding to it for years with that goal in mind.
Have a great day and let’s paint together soon.

P.S. I have to share this with you. I had to shoot this video three times because I’m a dufus and kept making all sorts of mistakes in the video and in the editing. I almost gave up and didn’t make it, but then I thought, “that’s not what I want you to do when you have a tough painting session,” so here it is. A day late, but it’s here. Enjoy!
